Universidade Lusófona offers graduate and post-graduate courses in
translation and interpretation studies


- FIRST-DEGREE IN TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION
 (Licenciatura em Tradutores e Intérpretes):

The undergraduate program is a four-year full-time B.A. course in
translation and interpretation (in the final year, students can
specialize in either translation or interpretation).

It is a trilingual course (A - European Portuguese; B - English;
C - French, German, Spanish or Italian) training its students to
successfully translate/interpret medical, engineering, legal,
financial, scientific, or literary texts, etc.


- DIPLOMA IN TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC TRANSLATION
  (Pós-Graduação em Tradução Técnica e Científica):

The post-graduate course in technical and scientific translation is a
one-year program veered towards the specialization of translators in
these areas: Environment and Natural Sciences, Electronics, Computer
Science, Mechanics, and Construction.

The teaching methods adopted bring together the theory and practice of
translating technical and scientific texts. This approach aims to
transmit and/or enhance the students' competence both of translation
proper (its methods, techniques and practice) and its underlying
transdisciplinarity (thematic, lexical and conceptual knowledge of the
various fields of the program).

Requirements: Applicants are required to have a Bachelor's Degree or
equivalent in Translation Studies, Modern Languages and Literatures, or
in one of the Technical or Scientific areas covered by the program.
Candidates should also have a high level of proficiency in written and
oral Portuguese and English.
